In 2015, the University of Arizona partnered with Maricopa County Community Colleges to develop and launch the UA North Valley degree completion program. UA North Valley provides new possibilities and greater flexibility for students in Maricopa County seeking a degree from the University of Arizona, and creates a seamless transition to advanced undergraduate coursework. Students enrolled at UA North Valley are working towards a Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) degree. This is a broad, multidisciplinary course of study rather than a traditional major. The degree provides students with a flexible yet structured program covering a broad range of interests and disciplines. We cater to students who have already completed their general education requirements and are working to complete the upper-division courses for a bachelor's degree. UA North Valley offers an experience similar to that of a small liberal arts college with small classes and easy access to faculty with the world-class resources and connections of the University of Arizona. UA North Valley is located in north Phoenix at the campus of Paradise Valley Community College, allowing easy access from across greater metropolitan Phoenix.
