Convocation and Senior Awards

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! Each semester, CLAS hosts a Convocation ceremony which is held to honor each prospective BA, BS and BGS degree recipient graduating that semester (or the following summer/winter).  At the ceremony, graduates will be individually recognized as well as have a slide displaying their name, major and picture (if provided). We ask that all students RSVP for their convocation ceremony through the online scheduling system. Students are limited to 10 guests each.

Additionally, two awards are presented to outstanding graduates; students are invited to submit a nomination for one of the following:

Outstanding Senior Award

This award recognizes outstanding seniors who represent the exemplary qualities of scholarship, leadership and citizenship.  A minimum 3.500 cumulative GPA at the end of the last full semester prior to graduation is required. The Outstanding Senior Award winner will be invited to speak at the Convocation ceremony.

Spirit of Excellence Award

This award recognizes a graduating senior whose pursuit of education demonstrates a dedication to scholarship, leadership and citizenship, and is an individual who has not necessarily followed the traditional route.  A minimum 2.500 cumulative GPA at the end of the last full semester prior to graduation is required.
