Kory Pflueger is majoring in Global Studies with a concentration in Global Health, specifically in Africa. She is also completing a second major in Studio Art and a Pre-Health Thematic minor. She tells us her favorite thing about the Global Studies major, campus and community involvement and her extensive travels.
What is your favorite thing about your major?
“The best thing about my GLS major is the diversity and control I have over what I learn. Don’t be afraid to explore all the options. GLS is a major you get to build and customize, so do what you love.”
How are you involved at UA and in the Tucson community?
“I am an RA at Manzi-MO Hall as well as the co-advisor for the Hall Council there. I really enjoy volunteer work, just doing it whenever to give back to the community as much as I can.”
Favorite UA memory?
“My favorite memory from UA would have to be Community Day at Manzi-MO, specifically Manzi –M0 Madness this past August. Just because it was a great way to get residents to relax, go crazy and get excited about being a Wildcat.”
Have you traveled outside the U.S.? What are some highlights?
“I’ve traveled to many places, including London, the Bahamas, Canada, Australia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, and New Zealand, where I lived for a year. Highlights would be: Tower of London, Tropic of Cancer, Great Barrier Reef, Vanuatu land divers and of course the Kiwis (bird in the sense). My goal is to have a job that allows me to travel to a wide range of countries, and my goal is to go to every continent.”
