What advice would you give to undergraduate student preparing for the health professions?

I would tell them to begin shadowing from freshman or sophomore year. Make sure this is something that you want to do. My shadowing experience gives me so much motivation to continue on the road to medical school. I also would suggest doing a summer program. I attended SMDEP at Columbia University, and left the program with so many connections with fellow students as well as admissions representatives at Columbia.  The program is wonderful for anyone interested in Medical or Dental School.

What areas in the Health Professions are you planning on pursuing?

I would like to become a medical doctor.

What was your BEST experience at UA?

My best experience at the U of A was being able to study abroad in Spain. I will never forget that amazing experience and have made life-long friends.

What hidden treasure did you find on campus?

The potatoes at Cactus Grill. Most delicious breakfast potatoes ever!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

In ten years I see myself finishing up residency or already practicing medicine, happy, and still passionate about the medical field.

What do you like to do when you have down time?

When I have down time I like to read, go on hikes around Tucson and try local restaurants. I hope to have an amateur food blog in the near future.

Who has been a major influence in your life and why?

My mother has been the biggest influence in my life. She has always encouraged me to follow my dreams. She has helped me throughout my college years by staying up with me and helping me study, proof-reading my papers and been  very supportive of all my endeavors . As a Lawyer, who has her own law firm, she has shown me how to be a strong, independent woman and I truly admire her for all that she has done for my brother and I. I hope to one day be half the woman she is.
