Tammy Trujillo is a Pre-Health Advisor in the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center located at Bear Down Gym. She works with students who are interested in pursuing areas of health care, medicine, physical therapy, optometry, and other health-related careers. She is a member of the Navajo tribe in Northern Arizona and her previous work has included working with the Navajo community through health insurance literacy, domestic violence outreach and awareness, supporting students in STEM, and creating a health assessment survey and data report. Prior to joining the Pre-Health advising team, Tammy worked as a STEM Program Assistant with the UA's Bio5 Institute. Tammy received her B.S. from Northern Arizona University and her MPH from the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health. Tammy enjoys spending time watching The Office, checking out local Tucson events with her boyfriend Tom, and traveling up to Northern Arizona to spend time with family.
Pre-Health Professions Coordinator, Pre-Health Professions Advising Center
Stephanie (Rollins) Watson is the Coordinator and Senior Advisor in the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center, working with students planning application to graduate level health professional programs such as Medical, Optometry or Dental School. She is a long-standing member of the National Association of Advisors in the Health Professions and has published articles in that organization’s national journal. She is a graduate of Northwestern University and earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling at Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. Although she has 20 years of experience as an advisor, she also worked as a public school counselor, in business as a technical writer and web developer and even worked 6 years as a police officer. She has two dogs, sings in several choral groups and enjoys spending time with her 4 grandchildren.
Lorri Leong is a Pre-Health Advisor in the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center, helping a variety of students pursue their dreams of becoming a health professional. She collaborates with students on how to achieve their desired career in the fields of medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, pharmacy, optometry, athletic training, and other health-related fields. She is originally from St. Louis, Missouri and enjoys traveling for her education and personal pleasure. Lorri received her B.A. degree from Cornell College (no, not that Cornell) in Psychology with a minor in Civic Engagement. She then attended Valdosta State University where she earned her M.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy. She enjoys binge watching shows on Netflix, online shopping, exploring the new city she now calls home.
Leah Martinez supports students in exploration of their interests in health related professions as a Pre-Health Advisor in the Pre-Health Professions Advising Center. She is a native Tucsonan with a Bachelor of Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Political Science and a Masters in Human Relations from NAU. Leah discovered her interest in collaborating with students in higher education as a student aid for the Counseling and Advising Center at Pima Community College. She has held a variety of positions within higher education from welcoming new students through the campus visit program and international admissions at Southeast Missouri State University to guiding students to graduate with Honors at the University of Arizona. Outside of work, Leah is an enthusiastic pet parent to her four senior pets: Schatzi, Little Girl, Diamond and Lucy. She enjoys baking and cooking healthy treats for her fur babies and escaping to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Senior Academic Advisor, Pre-Health Professions Advising
Josie Gin Morgan is a Pre-Health Advisor. She is a native Tucsonan and First Generation Chinese American. Josie received her BS in Family Studies from The University of Arizona and her M.Ed. in Educational Leadership at Northern Arizona University in 1995. Josie has been working in Higher Education for over 20 years. She has worked at Pima College as well as The University of Arizona College of Medicine and main campus. In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her husband Carl, her two dogs, watching movies, traveling, and cooking. As an Arizona Master Florist (AzMF), she enjoys floral design whenever possible.
