This past weekend, we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Center for Latin American Studies at the University of Arizona—and what a celebration it was! 💛
From the Pachanga to the asado en el parque, from dancing to the amazing performances by El Surco Tucson, Aztral Folk, and Grupo Tradiciones, and savoring the delicious food from Patricia's Cuban Kitchen—every moment was filled with joy, love, and community.
Thank you to everyone who joined us—alumni from across Arizona, around the country, and even internationally. Your presence made this milestone truly unforgettable. We’re especially grateful to our CLAS Directors, Associate Directors, staff, students, and faculty—past and present—who’ve made CLAS such a special and impactful space over the last five decades.
This was more than a celebration—it was a powerful reflection on our shared legacy: one rooted in social justice, solidarity, and the strength of community.
