At the Center for Latin American Studies we're committed to supporting students whose scholarship focuses on Latin America. This means not only that we support the students in the Latin American Studies program, but also that we fund students focusing on the region in other departments across campus.
Each year Latin American Studies students received substantive financial aid through resources like graduate assistantships (GA), teaching assistantships (TA), and departmental scholarships. Research funding is available through the Tinker Field Research Grant. Funding is also available through our Foreign Language & Area Studies (FLAS) Fellowships.

Tinker Field Research Grant
Need funding for your summer fieldwork in Latin America? Graduate students in any department can apply for funding through the Tinker Field Research Grant.
Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships
Apply for funding to support your studies of Latin American languages and area studies. You can apply for an academic year fellowship, as well as summer funding for intensive language study.
