Best Practices for Globalizing the Community College Curriculum

The University of Arizona Centers for Middle Eastern Studies (CMES) and Center for Latin American Studies (LAS) invite all community college educators to our virtual workshop “Globalizing the Community College Curriculum”. This virtual conference for and by community college educators is a space to share and learn best practices to incorporate international content in the classroom. We are seeking proposals from community college educators in humanities/social sciences and STEM fields nation-wide to facilitate practical, engaging workshops about projects you have developed to globalize your instruction. Selected presenters will receive a $100 honorarium.

Format:

  • Each selected presenter will be part of a 3 person panel organized according to presentation topics

  • Each presenter on the panel will give a 20 minute presentation, followed by Q&A for a total panel presentation time of ~1 hour

What to include in your proposal:

  • Session title

  •  A brief (1 paragraph) description of session topic, which world areas the presentation addresses, expected learning outcomes for attendees and ways to adapt the project for other content areas

  • Short description of how attendees will engage/participate in the virtual presentation

  • Information about yourself: your name, where you teach, what you teach and your email address
