Larissa Lazaro Roncador
Larissa Lazaro Roncador recently graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Human Development and Family Sciences. She began her academic journey at Austin Community College, where she distinguished herself as Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa - Alpha Gamma Phi and chaired the Helping Families Committee. Her achievements at the community college earned her recognition on the 2022 All-Texas Academic Team and a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship at the University of Arizona, where she ultimately graduated with the Nugent Award.
During her time at the University of Arizona, Larissa was nominated by the Spanish and Portuguese Department to present at the Symposium/Conference and conducted direct research at the Human Memory Lab under Dr. Grilli's mentorship. She gained valuable experience in scientific research and explored developments in psychological science. Larissa also served in a preceptorship role with Dr. Khosla, deepening her understanding of community building and leadership. As an international student from Brazil and a first-generation student, Larissa
found community and motivation at The Thrive Center, which played a pivotal role in her academic journey. Larissa also worked as a community coordinator, supporting fellow students in finding their community at the University of Arizona. Larissa is particularly interested in understanding the cultural, language, and psychological impacts on children's development. She is committed to helping
children from marginalized societies have a healthy development.
