Luis Carlos Davis is an award-winning film director/producer. He was born and raised on the Mexico-U.S. border. His life is a product of two countries, two cultures, and two languages. Davis was chosen as 2010 Man of the Year of Southern Arizona. He was selected by the Spanish Embassy and Fundación Carolina as one of the ten leaders from the United States to visit Spain to learn about the culture, politics, economics, and social issues and explore the international relationship between the U.S and Spain. His film projects have been exhibited in Mexico, the U.S, Chile, Colombia, and Europe. Davis was also nominated for the U.S.-Mexico Cross-Border Innovation and Cooperation Awards, and selected to participate in the Guadalajara Talent as a film director. He was nominated teacher of the year from Scottsdale School of Film + Theatre in 2018 and is a Television Academy Faculty Fellow. He completed his Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in the Department of Teaching, Learning & Sociocultural Studies where he focused on media literacy, semiotics, and film studies. Currently, Davis is working on two documentary films one titled “El Monstruo” and the second one “Amor Chiquito”.
