I am a Latin Americanist with a focus in Mexican history, and I enjoy engaging with the academic community surrounding my discipline. I have given over a hundred-fifty invited lectures and seminars at universities in the US, Canada, Latin America, Australia, England (Oxford, Cambridge, and Warwick), Italy (University of Torino) and France (Toulouse Université). Additionaly, I participated in the development of an Outreach program for k-12 teachers throughout that offered workshops and curriculum materials. Furthermore, I have supported the profession by evaluating grants for Fulbright, the American Philosophical Society, National Humanities Center, and other US foundations as well German and Mexican foundations. I have also evaluated and written letters for more than 50 individuals being considered for promotion and tenure at US and Canadian universities.
