The Latin American Studies Student Organization (LASSO) is hosting its 3rd Annual Latin American Studies Symposium this Friday, April 11th, from 9am to 3pm at Kachina Lounge, Student Union.
ALASS is an all-day symposium and an opportunity for graduate and undergraduate students to present research on Latin America in an inclusive, student-focused environment.

This year, we are excited to announce Dr. Nadia W-Charles as our keynote speaker, presenting:
A Zero-Sum Game: The Racial Paradox between Haiti & the Dominican Republic
Dr. W-Charles will provide a historical overview of race relations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic. Using case studies of similar geo-political interactions, the local paradox will be problematized and mythologized as a consequence of Black nationalism.
