The 3rd Annual Arizona Latin American Studies Symposium (ALASS) is excited to announce its call for submissions. ALASS is a 1-day symposium and an excellent opportunity for both undergraduate and graduate students in Arizona to gain experience in presenting academic work in a welcoming, inclusive environment. The symposium will also feature a keynote speaker. ALASS’s tentative date is April 11th, 2025 and is being hosted by the Latin American Studies Student Organization.
For this year’s symposium, we are accepting both lightning talks (five-minute short presentations on a topic of interest) and oral presentations (ten-minute presentations on research) from students. Any undergraduate and graduate student researching and studying topics related to Latin America across the UofA campus is encouraged to submit their work for consideration.
Submissions to this form are due by Friday, March 7th, 2025, at 11:59pm AZ time. Final selections for the conference & panel time slots will be announced via e-mail to all applicants on March 17h, 2025. Please confirm participation by March 21st, 2025. Slideshow deck and presentation materials will be due to the ALASS Organizing Committee by April 4th, 2025, at 11:59pm AZ time.
