Where
Join us for a hands-on history methods workshop with Dr. Elena Jackson Albarrán, Professor of History and Global and Intercultural Studies at Miami University of Ohio. This session explores strategies for addressing silences and absences in archival research, with a particular focus on child-produced historical documents and the ethical and methodological challenges they present.
Drawing on her work in Latin American history and the history of childhood, Dr. Albarrán will guide participants through approaches to interpreting incomplete archives, situating the historian in relation to their sources, and developing research questions that account for marginalized voices. Graduate students and advanced undergraduates in History, Latin American Studies, and related fields are especially encouraged to attend.
Space is limited; please RSVP to reserve your spot. Light refreshments will be provided.
