Faculty Spotlight "Demand and Supply of Criminal Governance: Experimental Evidence from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador"
CLAS faculty, Dr. Susan Brewer-Osorio, and affiliate faculty, Dr. Javier Osorio, recently published their article, "Demand and Supply of Criminal Governance: Experimental Evidence from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador" in American Political Science Review.

The article presents a theory of the demand and supply for Criminal Governance, evaluated using survey data with multiple list experiments. They find that demand for criminal governance is linked to economic difficulties and civilian articulation capacity, while the supply of criminal governance depends on the potential for civilian resistance or competition from the state.
