Edward Buck-Shannon

Edward is from Tucson and received his BA in 2024 from the University of Arizona in Latin American Studies and Global Studies. During his undergrad Edward interned at Keep Tucson Together and later worked as a policy advocate for Ecumenical Ministries of Oregon. At EMO he focused mainly on immigration and housing policy and helped pass several successful policy changes including expanded funding for refugee resettlement, a ban on housing discrimination based on immigration status, $25m in ongoing funding for homeless youth services and a bill creating a pre-development loan program for affordable housing.

As someone who grew up in Southern Arizona Edward cares deeply about the problems facing our community on both sides of the border. As a Cuban-American and Tucsonan he is especially passionate about fair housing and immigration policy. Edward likes to spend his free time outdoors or cooking with his friends.
