Grant Simper
Grant is a master’s student in Latin American Studies at the University of Arizona, where he studies through the U.S. Army’s Advanced Civil Schooling program as a Foreign Area Officer aligned to the Western Hemisphere. His academic and professional interests focus on Latin America, regional affairs, and security cooperation.
Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, Grant earned a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine/Athletic Training from the University of Utah. His Army career has included assignments in both the United States and Latin America with jobs in Logistics, Special Operations, and Security Cooperation. He has lived in Argentina, El Salvador, and Panama. Those experiences deepened his interest in the region’s politics, history, and culture and continue to shape his work and studies.
Outside of work and school, Grant’s greatest joy is his family. He and his wife, Holly, are raising two sons, Clayton and Greyson, in a home full of sourdough and baseball.
