Julia Blumberg '22
Recruitment Coordinator, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, University of Arizona

"What drew me to the degree in LAS was the close-knit community of faculty and students. I particularly enjoyed the interdisciplinary courses, especially those focused on peacebuilding and conflict in Latin America. Challenges like having to adjust my thesis research due to the pandemic taught me adaptability, while serving as President of the Latin American Studies Student Organization helped me discover my passion for collaboration, marketing, and event planning—skills I use in my current role. I now enjoy sharing my experiences as a Latin American Studies student with prospective students and families, highlighting the impactful courses I took."
Julia Blumberg is the Recruitment Coordinator for the University of Arizona’s College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, overseeing recruitment and enrollment for over 30 academic programs. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and Spanish from High Point University, as well as a dual M.A. in Bilingual Journalism and Latin American Studies from the University of Arizona. During her time as an M.A. student, Julia co-founded the Arizona Latin American Studies Symposium, an annual research symposium for both undergraduates and graduates, which she hopes will continue for years to come.
