"I believe that LAS opened up the possibilities of going into different fields, although I ended up in a Ph.D. program in History at University of Arizona, I am sure I could have ended up in any other field. I am in the career I love and I think LAS contributed to that significantly."
"I graduated with a dual Master in Public Administration and Latin American Studies in May of 2008. I had studied my undergraduate also at the University of Arizona in History, Political Science, and Latin American Studies (2001-2005). What I liked about the MA in LAS was that is allowed me to explore Latin America from a multidisciplinary lens. I was born in Durango Mexico, but grew up in Los Angeles, CA, and in Hermosillo, Sonora. So I really consider myself more from the borderlands. I believe that LAS opened up the possibilities of going into different fields, although I ended up in a Ph.D. program in History at the University of Arizona, I am sure I could have ended up in any other field. I am in the career I love and I think LAS contributed to that significantly.
My LAS degree has impacted my career because it prepared me to look at Latin America from multiple perspectives."
