Rostam Cole

Rostam Cole, originally from New Jersey, is a dual Masters degree student in both Latin American studies and Public Administration. He is also a Coverdell Fellow who served in Peace Corps Georgia from 2024-2026. While in service, Rostam worked in an Azerbaijani ethnic minority village, where he taught English, improved local teachers’ pedagogical capacity, and organized community events and workshops for youth. He is currently an intern at the Water Research Resources Center at University of Arizona, where he assists with the TAAP (Transboundary Aquifer Assessment Program) which evaluates shared groundwater along the US-Mexico border.

Rostam’s primary academic and research interests are the history and economics of the US-Mexico border and transborder politics, and he is deeply fascinated by indigenous languages and cultural preservation.
